UI Design that Sells the Product - WIN WIN

In addition to UCD, I practice WIN WIN development. Here's an example. The most important discovery that happened in my exploration for the perfect payment portal UI, also helped a sale close quickly. The customers are a mixed decision group of Finance and Marketing people. As I went round and round in the design process and working with existing clients, the most obvious discovery was that each client thought the way their marketing website operated was perfect. They truly adore their websites and it was important to the marketing group. Therefore, what better place to put our software and use their UI/UX?

Each CFO wants to reduce budgets and a typical target is the marketing budget. But now if the marketing site could also have a critical business function, then there is justification that the site has a financial purpose. The Marketing Director or Director of Marketing can not give us enough blessing to purchase and adopt the EasyPay Payment Suites. Bingo! We use their style and we use their site that they have worked on for so long.

The main point of our software application platform is business process so we stuck to it -- and that is what closes a sale. Now onto the accountants. How can we impress them? Our app platform streamlines their settlements and process, another win.

Additionally, the applications are certified to work with EMV Chip readers and cloud hosted and maintained.

Basically our application has no interface.

Some call it white labeling, but we go further and use the client full UI not just place a 2x3 logo in the upper left corner. This approach is more work, but it is little work comparatively for its impact. We don't just sell products, we save lives. If a marketing budget goes, so do people's jobs with it - thus the WIN WIN. WIN for us WIN for the client.

Sketches

I moved into a phase of rapid sketching and paper prototyping.

Prototype

A lo-fidelity prototype was created using Axure. Prototyping allowed for quick iterations and the ability to user test the functionality.

The UI Design

Basically our application has no interface. Or rather it takes on the UI skin of the client's UI.

The app suite fits into the client's UI. We take the look and feel for the client site and place the EasyPay form and programming into the client UI pages to affect their site. As a SaaS / PaaS solution all pages are hosted by Brennan & Pike servers.
